Newsvine: Album Review - This Loud Morning (David Cook)
Album Review: This Loud Morning (David Cook)

If there’s one thing I’ve noticed with songwriters and I admire most, it’s the courage they have to strip themselves down; exposing their thoughts and feelings to a capricious world while diving into a deep unknown abyss just to know that someone along the way understands that very meaning they’re trying to articulate. Deep, well-thought songs don’t come from the surface. They come from deep down with an open heart and mind that allows for poetry, melody and passion to permeate through.

An artist who never fails to wear his heart on his sleeve is David Cook, the past winner of the FOX reality show, American Idol but don’t peg him into the Idol cliché. Cook is one of the rare winners along with Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson who’s able to stand on his own two feet and found success over the years by laying his heart on the line. Lyrically and vocally, Cook is impressive and by far one of the finest musicians emerging today. It’s been about two and a half years since his platinum-selling self-titled album debuted and the wait has been worth it.

newsvine - don't you forget about david cook: american idol season 10 farewell song revealed

I'm sure the lot of you have flailed today, lost your ovaries, screamed to the top of your lungs in excitement and like me, burned down a building and walked away only to hope freeze frame applies in real life and give the best goshdang fist pump in the world!

David Cook is back friends. He's back and better than ever. I was texting with Em aka [livejournal.com profile] storminmay earlier today and we both mutually love the flailing and the honest fact that his music has the power to bring all of us together and create this bond. It's adorable. I love it! I had the chance today without even realizing it to write a little something over at my Newsvine column. Be sure to check it out and let me know what you think of the Simple Minds' cover David's created.

Don't You Forget About David Cook: American Idol Season 10 Farewell Song Revealed

During the week of March 8 on American Idol, David Cook, the winner of the popular reality competition’s seventh season returns with a musical treat. His latest song, a cover of the 1985 hit by Simple Minds, “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” will make its debut next week as this year’s send-off track for the departing contestants of the show’s tenth season.

This is a big surprise for all of his fans as they’ve waited eagerly for new music from the multi-platinum seller since his successful self-titled debut album back in 2008, selling more than 1.4 million copies along with his American Idol coronation single, “The Time of my Life” becoming the highest-selling in the show’s history.

newsvine - david cook gives back
I love children and you all know that. I feel like, we owe them a push for a better life no matter where they live and what their economic status is. They are the future and it's our job to guide them. I've always wanted to be that person who can help out and then just, hug them and make them feel like work is being done to help them, you know? Like, I've dreamed of going over to Africa and lending a hand because it's necessary. Sure, there's debate that "fix what's in your own backyard first" but if we all thought about ourselves and not about others, not only would we have no friends but we'd lose that bit of humanity and love for another.

David Cook is one of my heroes. He works hard and his recent visit to Ethiopia for Idol Gives Back gave me reason to dive deeper into the education system in Ethiopia and discuss what's at hand with the girls and their lack of schooling and the UN Foundation making the most of what they can. I wrote an article and hope you all check it out...

David Cook Gives Back

It was Nelson Mandela who once said about education that it is the most powerful weapon in which you can use to change the world and from what life has taught us, it’s rather true. Education is a process to living and learning what you didn’t even know you didn’t know. Its aim should be to teach us rather how to think, than being told what to think and in toe, improve our minds as to enabling us to think for ourselves. It is a mandatory part of our civilization and a major part of education is encouragement.

Somebody who understands the value of education is season seven winner of American Idol, David Cook. Cook, whose interest in music began at a young age was singing in the second grade and was encouraged further by his music teacher, Ms. Gentry to carry on singing. She saw such potential in the young Cook and gave him a solo part in the school’s Christmas pageant. It was from that moment on – just a sheer push, that Cook realized his dreams of pursuing a career in singing. After winning the title of American Idol in May of 2008, Cook has gone on to selling more than 1.5 million records in the United States, giving him Platinum status.

Look at his face! JUST LOOK!!! Awwwww!! afjafjalkhajfajfa!!! I love him! ♥ I wonder if the next time I see him we'll make out. No? Too soon? Too creepy? I know...

I seriously want to thank [livejournal.com profile] cakelulu for what she did. That was sweet and also I must mention a shoutout of love to [livejournal.com profile] ch_ch_chinatown for what she wrote me the night before. That was the sweetest thing babe. Seriously. It cheered me up. Thanks honeybunny! *HUGS*

Now look! LOOK HOW HE LOOKS WHEN HE TALKS TO ME! Note to David though: don't think too hard about how I look or anything, okay boyfriend? LOL! Leave it to the imagination of those 1-900 numbers, bwahahahawwwwwwwwwww!!!! <33

By the way, I found this picture over at DCO, taken by Christa!  :) Much thanks to her. I wonder if there's more like this....

i want him to live with me forever! ♥
I don't have time to comment or write a long blog or anything but I love David Cook. No. I love him. Like seriously. Like whoa. I love him especially when he's covered in green spandex and wearing purple/blue (I can't really tell) undies! Just watch the video. All I can say now is that everytime I listent to GRO's song, "Goodbye LA", I will always have this green dancing man in my head...

And I love him! <3

Oh. Last note. Wouldn't it be awesome if the Green Man made appearances on the Michael Johns/Brooke White tour? Do you all agree? Should we sign a petition for this?? :D

when life hands you lemons...JUST DAAAAANCE!
I made another AI7 music video - I actually started this back in April/May and then Nadia got sick and it was put on the backburner and I never really felt like finishing it but eventually, I did and Nadia got better and I just finished it earlier this week. I was going to upload it on YouTube but I've got one strike and they denied the video as did Imeem with their new rules (so as of now, there is no Forever Young music video out there of the AI7ers).

So, as a sort of homage to my love of dance and my love of the AI7 and their love of dance and love for one another...heheheh...without further ramblings, JUST DANCE!

PS: I am not a big fan of the GaGa. I think she's a twit and her disco stick talk scares the shit out of me. Plus, she wants to sexually assault the JoBros and that's not good in my books because, well frankly - leave some people clean, okay Lady Gaga? You can't infect everyone and considering how sexually open you are, I find it amusing you cover up in your music the real word: just say penis or uh-uh instead of disco stick lady! It's annoying...

because shirtless vintage david cook footage must be shared...
ZOMG! HOLY SHIT! I may be the only one who hasn't seen this Axium video of David and the band but you gotta admit - David's come a loong way in singing. My favourite part that literally makes me LMAO really hard is at 1:06 when David pulls that note as high as he can and then how it breaks!! It's just too funny and did I mention I love Scrawny David. I also love how Chubby David has now consumed Scrawny David. It's chubtastic!

By the way, the song they're singing is called Paradise City and well, lol!! Oh and David's mannerisms and walking around the stage all shirtless and all?? It's soo...obscure and his little, "na-na-na-na-naaaaa's"? Priceless.

Do you agree David Cook?
